As you can see recently we have slowed down the pace of adding new features to Pagico. Does it mean that we’re getting lazy? Definitely not!
That is because we’re working on some giant improvements which will be rolled out within the upcoming months (yes, months instead of weeks or days).
Our modest estimation about this update would be no later than Jan 2008. This is just a rough estimation, and is subject to change (we wanted to make it faster, you know that).
So, what’s the deal?
Well, with this series of improvements, you’ll be able to:
+ Use multiple database with your Pagico.
Create a database for your life, and a database for your work? No problem.
+ Save database wherever you want.
Store database file on your external drive so you can use your data on multiple computers.
Easier backup and restore.
+ Faster user interface, better user experience.
Completely no flash when navigating among tabs.
No flash back and forth when switching among topics.
+ More customizable options
Set database-specific password and name (which is displayed in slideshows and printed materials).
+ Better TagExploré feature
Once you have more than 50 tags, the first level of the TagExploré feature could be messy. What about displaying selected (or meaningful) tags in the first level only?
+ Improved Print / Export
Print and export features for profile contacts.
+ AppleScript support
Want to use Pagico through QuickSilver (or other similar cool apps)? I know, you want.
+ Create topic-specific schedule flowchart
In addition to the schedule flowchart in your dashboard, you’ll be able to see flowcharts for specific topics (which could be your projects).
+ Share your plans with just 1-click
Want to tell everyone else your plan? With just a few clicks you’ll be able to share your topic as well as the flowchart with others!
Even more, your recipients will be able to write their comments on your shared topics, and you’ll be able to see them right in your topic (of course, in Pagico).
+ Linking to file instead of copy when importing files
Holding the “option” key when dropping the files into Pagico will create links to the file instead of copying them into the Pagico database.
+ Collapse and expand segments in topics and QuickNotes
When you got too many segments in topics, collapse them is a great choice.
+ Keyboard controls
If you are like me who prefer using keyboard to mouse, you’ll be able to navigate Pagico with plenty of keyboard controls!
+ Improved “create new documents” in topics.
Pagico now allows you to create new blank microsoft word, excel and ppt documents. What if you’re a musician and you’ll be able to create new blank Sibelius documents, or let’s say you’re a graphic artist and you want to create new blank Maya project documents?
There’ll be plenty of them for your choice. Use drag and drop to customize your top-4-file-type so you’ll be even more productive than ever.
….. Well, this is the brief list of the exciting improvements coming along. With all these improvements, I think it is appropriate to call it as a major upgrade. And we’re about to give it a version of v3.0 instead of 2.4.
Hey, is there someone shouting at me because it sounds like some famous softwares like FileM*ker which has already reached the v9 and every time it upgrades only comes with a very few exciting new feature but charing people for $300 again and again?
Well, I think there are several differences here. First, we’re bringing tons of great new stuff with a major upgrade. Second, this major release is *also* a FREE UPGRADE to all our customers as usual.
Let me know your ideas! Maybe your bright ideas will come true together with this exciting update!
