Hello all,
As the development of Pagico 4 is going really well (and we’re hoping to have some public betas to be out early next month 🙂 ), I’d like to say that if you’re still using Pagico v2.x software, please update to Pagico v3 as soon as possible. The update from v2 to v3 is free, and will involve a data conversion. So please back up your data before performing the update.
The reason of this is that the new Pagico 4, with the largely improved data engine, will need to convert your Pagico v3 databases as well. And due to many reasons, the data converter in Pagico 4 will NOT be able to convert Pagico v2 databases. So, simply put, you can’t upgrade from v2 to v4 directly.
How to upgrade to Pagico v3?
To upgrade your Pagico v2 to the latest Pagico v3 (currently the r638b), simply download the latest installer and perform the installation. The Pagico 3, when launched for the first time, will look for your old Pagico v2 database (internal) and try to convert it right away. Therefore, please back up your Pagico folder BEFORE launching Pagico 3.
Even if you are not planning to upgrade to Pagico v4 any time soon, I would still recommend you upgrading to v3 for many reasons, one of which being the fact that we’ll stop supporting Pagico v2 once the v4 is released.
