Pagico v4.0 BETA r850 is now available!

Howdy folks!
Thanks again for providing feedback to us regarding to the Pagico 4 beta! We’re excited to bring you this new beta building addressing many important issues.

Improvements

  • Lists are automatically titled as “List” rather than “Untitled List”
  • Text notes are automatically titled as blank instead of “Untitled”
  • List title can now be modified upon creation of the list (list title will still be hidden if there’s only one item in the list)
  • Dashboard flowchart now shows tasks starting from up to 14 days ahead of the right boundary
  • Improved tag display in topic lists (clicking on the tags to switch to that tag, and currently selected tag will be highlighted)
  • Thumbnails will be created for pictures imported to Pagico database (see note below)

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that some times slashes (“\”) were added in contacts imported by vCard
  • Fixed a bug in link parsing for notes copied from webpages
  • Possibly fixed the issue that occasionally a task might be displayed twice in the schedule flowchart
  • Deleted items will not be shown in the printed and exported version
  • Deleted tasks will not be shown in the schedule flowchart
  • Fixed a bug in unicode support on Mac, so that paths containing special characters are now properly supported
  • Fixed a bug that tags in the dashboard topic list were missing
  • Fixed a bug that recognized dates are shown as “javascript:void()”

Not yet available for Ubuntu
This r850 is currently available for Mac and Windows only. The ubuntu version will be packaged and available for download very soon.

Note for the Thumbnail process
Starting from this build, Pagico will try to create thumbnails for pictures imported into its database and the Inbox. The thumbnail process will be running in a different thread to obtain optimized performance and tolerate errors (in case that malformed pictures may break Pagico and thus lock up the file importing process, which happened before).
As a result, you may NOT see the thumbnails right after importing the files. For Mac users, simply visit the topic / profile later to see the thumbnail.
For Windows users, the thumbnail creation process might take more than 10 seconds. This is going to be optimized.

Note for existing photos
If you’re upgrading your Pagico v3.x databases with this r850 build, the conversion process will try to create the thumbnails. However, if you converted your databases with earlier versions of Pagico 4 beta, you can try to edit the photo title and hit enter to save it, in order to trigger the thumbnail process. Again, you will not see the thumbnail immediately due to the fact that the thumbnail process is running on a separate thread.

All right, as you can see that this build contains many important improvements and bug fixes, so it is recommended for all Pagico 4 beta users to update. To get started, simply visit the Pagico Beta.

At the mean time, please feel free to provide feedback if you spot anything weird, or feel confused. 🙂 We’d LOVE to hear from you!
