As mentioned earlier, we’ve been busy working on a few major projects in the past few months, and Pagico v5 is the core reason. Combined with several major feature improvements and additions, our upcoming major update is guaranteed to impressive you. Today, I’m very excited to give you some previews about the upcoming Pagico version 5.
Even better UI
We all loved how Pagico v4 looks. But we believed that only a pleasant-looking program could make you more productive. So we wanted to make it even better, by detailing every single corner. Over dozens of objects and UI controls have been polished, making the version 5 even more delightful to work with.
Greatly improved dashboard flowchart
You asked, we listened. We’ve actually thrown out our original, 2.5-year-old flowchart component and re-built with a much better one. This time, it does so much more:
- it scrolls left and right with unlimited range (not just 6 weeks in total);
- it switches modes (week-view, quarter-view and year-view) that give you better zoom-levels;
- it folds and expands projects to reduce visual clutter
- and it allows simple tasks re-scheduling by just mouse drag-and-drop!
Improved support for color-coded tasks
Remember that you could color-code list objects? Now you can see your color choices everywhere in Pagico! The task checkbox will reflect the color choice of the list, so you can feel free to use different colors for various purposes: levels of importance, type of task, or area of responsibilities, etc. It’s totally up to you.
Recursive tasks
With Pagico v4, there are times that you need to manually set up recursive tasks. That is not cool. So we added this little icon next to each task item, so that you can click on it and quickly set up the repeat settings, whether it’s daily, weekly, or monthly. Setting up repeating tasks or changing existing settings really only takes 2 mouse clicks — which makes it one of the simplest recursive task feature in the world.
Closing words
Please note that this is only an incomplete list of all the great new features and improvements that will come with the version 5. I’ll cover some of the rest goodies later. As you can see, we’ve been very busy for pretty good reasons! Just in case you might wonder: Pagico v5 is scheduled for 2011 Q1. When it’s ready, a hugely discounted upgrade pricing will be available to existing v4 users. More details on the pricing will be disclosed as we get closer to the release date.
I hope you enjoyed learning about the new stuff in v5, and if you do have any questions or comments, please do let us know by writing comments, twitting (@pagico), or simply shooting us emails. We love to hear from you, as always.
We at Pagico Software wish everyone a merry christmas, and a happy new year!
